Terms of use
This is an English translation for convenience. The Portuguese version is the binding version.
These terms govern the use of AnestSim, the portal at anestsim.com, the simulator, and the AnestSim Play game. By creating an account, you accept these terms.
Last updated: October 2026.
1. The service
AnestSim is a real-time anesthesia simulator for educational purposes. It has three lines: Play, Training, and Teach. The service is provided through the portal, the simulator in the browser, and the game in the store of each platform.
2. Educational tool
Educational tool, not validated for clinical use. AnestSim is not a medical device, has not been validated for clinical use, and does not replace the judgment of a physician, the protocols of an institution, or the literature. No result from the simulator may guide the care of a real patient.
3. The account
- The account is personal. You are responsible for its use.
- Sign-in uses your email through an authentication provider. Keep access to your email secure.
- You can delete the account at any time in your profile.
4. Permitted use
You may use AnestSim to study, teach, and play. You may not:
- copy, extract, or redistribute the case content, the physiology engine, or the pharmacological models;
- use the service to guide a real clinical course of action;
- share the account or sell access to it;
- try to circumvent the limits of the free tier or of the plans;
- overload the service with automated access.
5. Plans and payment
- Every account has the free tier: one free case.
- A plan unlocks the line that it names, for the contracted interval, monthly or annual.
- Stripe handles the billing: in Brazilian reais in Brazil and in US dollars in other countries. The price appears on the pricing page before the purchase.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. There is no prorated refund for the current period, except when the law requires it, such as the seven-day right of withdrawal for the first purchase.
- Free Teach depends on an institutional affiliation verified by the team and may be reviewed.
6. Classrooms and educators
The educator is responsible for the use of the classroom and for the invitations that the educator sends. The reports of students in the assignments are visible to the educator of the classroom. A student may ask the educator for removal from the classroom.
7. Intellectual property
AnestSim, the AnestSim™ trademark, the physiology engine, the models, the case content, and the game belong to Mário Turolla Ribeiro. Use of the service does not transfer any right over them. The reports of your simulations are yours, and you can ask for a copy of them through the support email.
8. Availability and changes
The service may become unavailable for maintenance. The content, the models, and the plans may change. Price changes apply to the next period and are announced by email.
9. Liability
The service is provided as is, for educational purposes. To the extent permitted by law, AnestSim is not liable for damages that result from the use of the service, in particular for any clinical decision made on the basis of it.
10. Privacy
The processing of your data follows the privacy policy.
11. Governing law and venue
These terms follow Brazilian law. The courts of the judicial district (comarca) of São Paulo, SP, are chosen as the venue for any dispute, except the courts of the consumer's domicile when the law so requires.
